Downers Grove - March 1959 - Frank Hicks (FrankHicks)

Description : CSL 2846, still wearing its work service (salt car) number AA98, is on cribbing at the Electric Railway Historical Society site in suburban Downers Grove in early 1959, just a few months after its acquisition by that group. Beyond it is the "Matchbox," CSL 1374, which was restored by IRM in the 1980's. The 2846 was acquired without its trucks or motors because of plans to drastically rebuild the car to its original appearance as a convertible suburban car.
